Tracey Smith is a Scottish freelance illustrator, creative practitioner and arts co-ordinator based in Dundee. She graduated from DJCAD with a first class BA (Hons) in Illustration.

Since taking part in the Creative Scotland funded 12 month Picture Hooks programme, working with the mentor Cate James, my work is currently being exhibited in venues across Scotland throughout 2016.

Printmaking, saturated colours, museum collections, beautifully designed European children's books and bright graphic posters all influence my work. Based on my love of Barcelona and Catalonia, my work has previously investigated Catalan folk tales and cultural customs.

My illustrations have previously been Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize for Children's Book Illustration, the Birlinn Design Awards and selected as one of seven shortlisted entries in the Waterstones Picture This competition.

As a freelance illustrator and gallery educator I have worked with museums and galleries in Scotland. As well as working with schools, families and community groups in creative workshops, I also design educational resources and marketing materials.

Please email me if you have any comments or would like more information about my work.
